Sometimes you can tell just by looking that a couple is a great fit! Kate and Rob are like that. Maybe they didn’t know it when they first met…their professions are so very different (Kate’s an Architectural Designer, and Rob’s a Police Officer!). But they found themselves walking down the same road, at the same moment. Somewhere along the line, a mischievous and adorable little Basset Hound/Terrier mix named PJ joined them as they walked. And something else happened too. At some point, they realized that they were meant to be together for always. That they just fit. So when they married this spring, their Fearrington Village Wedding was truly a celebration. It was filled with music, dancing, and many happy tears and I’m so grateful that I was a part of it!
I adored that so many of the details of Kate and Rob’s wedding reflected a genuine enjoyment of their loved ones. Kate’s jewelry was a collection of pieces given to her by all the special women in her life. Her bridesmaids were invited to pick their own dresses in colors inspired by paint swatches that she had selected…a sweet touch, and perfectly in line with the couple’s easy-going nature. Kate chose to do the first look with her dad. And when she walked down the aisle, she was both laughing and crying (a bride after my own heart!), holding her grandmother’s lace handkerchief and a stunning bouquet. The florist Mary Stevens did an amazing job, she’s such a creative and sweet person, and I always love working with her. The coordination by Cheryl Anne Kast was flawless. And Fearrington Village is a breathtaking venue! The rooms are beautiful, and full of natural light that is perfect for the preparation time before a ceremony.
I was excited to work with Kate and Rob right from the get-go. During our first consultation via Skype, they introduced PJ (remember that mischievous Basset Hound mix I mentioned?) to my golden retriever Ronon. We laughed a lot during that consultation…and I felt sosure that we were a great fit! I loved sharing time with them during their classic rustic-elegant wedding. Thanks my assistant Jamye for always being wonderful and great to work with!
When the DJ is great and the bride and groom rock the dance floor, the reception is fun, fun fun!!! DJ Steve Stowe with Bunn DJ Company was amazing and wonderful to work with!
