Just off Morgan Creek Trail in Chapel Hill, there’s a beautiful spot called Merritt’s Pasture. It’s the perfect place for a fall stroll, with gorgeous light and idyllic scenery. I had the great pleasure of spending a Fall afternoon there recently with Rosie and Neil, for their engagement session. These two kind souls laugh a lot together, and I so enjoyed being in their company!
The story of how Rosie and Neil met is definitely one for the books! Rosie’s good friend was having her bachelorette party at a bar in Virginia Beach in 2013…and Neil’s fraternity brother just happened to be having his bachelor party at the same bar on the same night! Rosie and Neil talked the whole evening, and their connection was so strong that she went to visit him in New York the following month. They dated long-distance for a time, but finally moved to Charlotte together last year. One day, Neil suggested they have brunch at a new restaurant recommended by a coworker. Afterwards they strolled to Jetton Park on Lake Norman. When they got down to the beach, Rosie’s eyes suddenly fell on an extraordinary scene: bunches of her favorite flowers, and a photo book that Neil had made to commemorate all of their adventures (Neil’s friends had set the whole thing up, and were taking pictures from afar!!). There, Neil asked Rosie to be his wife! Afterwards, they celebrated with their friends at a nearby brewery. What a wonderful day, and a super-special proposal!
I’m really looking forward to their May wedding at the Carolina Inn, which will combine Hindu and Christian traditions. Neil’s family is from India, when two cultures come together to celebrate Love, it’s so magical! I hope you enjoy these photos from their engagement session!
