Austin Wedding Photographers | Emma & Tyler

Adaumont Farm WeddingsI’m so excited to get to share one of the most moving ceremonies I’ve photographed, Emma and Tyler’s September 2018 wedding at the Adaumont Farm in Trinity, NC. It’s actually hard for me to describe how honored I felt to be capturing their day. But I’m going to try because it deserves to be shared.
I got to know Emma and Tyler better while working on their engagement session back in February of last year. They are both extremely talented musicians and they have this incredible connection. Tyler’s Christmas proposal was so sweet and you can read more about it here. Of course, I have to mention their adorable pup Emmitt, who is an important part of their life! I sensed way back then that their day would be extra special, but I had no way of knowing how loving their circle of friends and family would be. Emma and Tyler’s dear ones absolutely adore them. When they exchanged vows, there was not a single dry eye, mine included! Their words were deep and sincere, touching everyone present in a profound way.
This celebration would have been wonderful anywhere because everyone was so happy to be there, but Adaumont Farm really did make for a stunning, serene location. As Emma and Tyler strolled underneath the sky, it was easy to feel that all was right with the world for this one moment. And I have to mention what a delight it was to get to see Emma’s bridesmaid Judith, her husband Julian and her parents! Judith is a past bride of mine, so when I arrived on the farm and caught sight of her with Emma, I immediately started tearing up. Sometimes it’s such a small world…and so magical that our lives can intersect again and again, and at such profound moments.
Emma and Tyler are truly two of the kindest souls I’ve worked with, and their wedding was the best kind of celebration – full of Life, Love and Family. I hope you get a sense of that from their photos. What a privilege it was to be behind the lens on this one!

Clifton Inn Wedding Charlottesville | Chloe and Jon

I am so excited to write about this wedding, I almost don’t know where to begin! But I think I have to start with the bride and groom themselves, and their pup Oso…because when I first learned about this pup’s story I knew I would love working with his parents! Chloe adopted Oso while she was with the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic, and gave him his name because he looked like an ‘osito’ (a little bear). Jon says he jokes that he knew Chloe and Oso were a package deal…and that Chloe was the package that came with Oso! They are his bundle! 🙂 You’ll see Oso in the pictures below…what a sweetheart! But of course he is, he has wonderful parents!
Jon proposed to Chloe at the Kennedy Center, with the help of her favorite band Crush Funk Brass. While the band serenaded Chloe with the song Down on Bended, Jon knelt down and asked her to be his wife! And to top it off, Chloe had no idea the surprise was coming! A magical moment indeed! They tied the knot at the beautiful Clifton Inn in Charlottesville last weekend, with a ceremony that incorporated religious traditions from both of their families. The Greek and Jewish celebration led to some amazing dancing during the reception! The Hora was so exciting!! The whole night I felt grateful and happy to be a part of the celebration. When I’m having an especially good time working with a couple, I often ask myself: Why? In this case, the toasts given by Chloe and Jon’s families and friends truly gave words to my own feelings: these two are exceptionally good people. Jon is so polite and kind. And Chloe is the sweetest, she knows what she wants and goes for it. I love working with strong, smart women! I wish these two all the best and hope you enjoy a sneak peek of their amazing day! Thanks Chrishaun Jones with Elegance & Simplicity for all your help, I loved working with you!

I’m so in love with pup Oso! He was exhausted with the festivities! hehehe

The bow-tie struggle is real! hehehehe

Right before the First Look, when Jon would see Chloe in her (gorgeous!) Berta wedding dress for the first time, I was standing with Jon, telling him Chloe was about to appear and just encouraging him to enjoy the moment and pretend my second photographer and I wasn’t there. He became emotional with happy, excited tears…and just gave me a big hug. It meant so much, and showed so clearly the depth of his feelings for Chloe. A special moment I will always remember!

The emotional environment of a wedding definitely starts with the bride and groom. Although it was a very hot day, Chloe and Jon were such good sports! They had smiles on their faces the whole time and a wonderful energy! I love it so much!Clifton Inn Wedding Charlottesville

Texas Wedding Photography| Dalton & Grant

Beach engagement photosHello! I’m very excited to share a bit about one of my favorite engagement sessions to date! From the moment I first Skyped with bride-to-be Dalton, I knew that I would love working with her. She is a truly stunning woman! What’s more, she’s warm and genuine, with a brilliant smile that can’t help but make you smile back. I immediately began looking forward to our afternoon engagement session. And Grant is so nice too! I couldn’t be more thrilled to be their wedding photographer.
Dalton and Grant both grew up going to Holden Beach in North Carolina, so it was very sweet and meaningful to do the session there. I love it when couples choose a location that’s important to them! As a wedding photographer, I always strive to capture the bride and groom truly being themselves and it helps to be in a place where they’re surrounded by treasured memories. These two were so comfortable with one another, truly a joy to photograph! We shared a wonderful conversation over the course of the session, and as I got to know them better, I discovered just how kind and genuine they both are.
Adding to the fun of the day: Dalton and Grant brought their adorable pup Jasper along and included him in some of the photos! I have never before seen a Boxer with such a love for water! He was one happy baby at the beach! As our time together wound down, we found ourselves on Grant’s boat just as sunset was painting the sky. A really beautiful ending to an unforgettable day! I’m so honored that I get to photograph their upcoming wedding, and I’m really looking forward to working with the talented ladies of A Southern Soiree once more. So stay tuned! And enjoy these photos of their Holden Beach engagement session.

Caribbean Destination Wedding | Mizuki & Takuya

Caribbean Destination Wedding at Coral Sands Hotel Harbor Island

What a joy to fly to Harbor Island to photograph this kind and excited couple! Mizuki and Takuya flew from Japan to spend their honeymoon in the Bahamas and decided to take advantage of the gorgeous scenery and the breathtaking emerald blue sea to have their photos taken. We started the session at the Coral Sand Hotel, a gorgeous boutique hotel at Pink Sand Beach and after that, we strolled around the island stopping at interesting spots. Which was pretty easy to find, considering that Harbor Island is paradise! Below is a sneak peek of their beautiful photos, I absolutely loved capturing this sweet couple. While you are here, don’t forget to check out another stunning Caribeen Destination Wedding I photographed recently, perfectly designed and coordinated by Chic Bahamas Weddings.

The Sutherland Wedding Wake Forest |Editorial | Blue and Pink Ideas

          The Sutherland Wedding Wake Forest

A few months ago I had the pleasure to work with such a talented group of vendors on a wedding editorial at The Sutherland! The day was absolutely perfect and the wedding inspiration breathtaking!

From the amazing La Cosa Bella Events, who designed the shoot: “Spring time and weddings go hand and hand as does the combination of sweet pink and the serenity of blue. We wanted to present sophisticated details and images as well as bring in a few playful elements. When these Pantone colors were presented as colors of the year, one could understand the appeal of the combination. Yet those of us that are designers and planners knew there would naturally be challenges in regard to keeping the pink and blue elegant and in avoiding the cuteness that’s often associated with baby and child-related events. What makes this styled shoot successful is that details such as flowers, vintage furniture and antique silver helped to ground the sweetness of the colors. Metallics were present in the paper items and on the wedding cake adding another more sophisticated element to the color scheme. A striped pattern on the napkins brought in an unexpected decor detail. The beauty of this color combination is that you can make it fun. This is apparent in the pink cotton candy which did double duty in the couple’s signature drink and as a sweet bribe for the Flower Girl.”

Thank you all for being wonderful to work with. Below it is a sneak peek of the shoot! The full list of amazing vendors is at the end of the post.
