I’ve been waiting for this one for a while…because I knew it would be wonderful…and I’m so excited to share it! Last November I had the great pleasure of getting to know Loren and Edgar in downtown Richmond, where I did their engagement session. We had so much fun! Part of the session took place at salsa club Havana 59 where the couple first met, and I learned about their courtship and how Edgar included his two children in his proposal to Loren…such an incredibly sweet story! So I couldn’t wait to witness the beginning of their happily ever after. And my suspicions that the day might include some fantastic dancing were spot-on!
The ceremony and reception took place at historic Bedford Columns in Virginia. This estate was built in 1848 and has quite a history, but was renovated and now specializes in weddings and events. Loren and Edgar’s ceremony took place outside in beautiful late-afternoon light, with loved ones all around. I found myself tearing up behind the camera several times! As a couple, they are so genuinely nice…they truly enjoyed their guests and were so completely happy. Their calm and loving energy made the whole day very emotional and meaningful. Kelly (Loren’s maid of honor) spoke beautifully during her toast about the bride’s quiet strength and how well she knows what she wants. As I listened, I realized how completely true that is: early on in our working relationship, when I asked Edgar what he loves about Loren, one of the things he mentioned was her strength. She is so creative and organized, and has great style. And so does Edgar! What a stylish groom!
But their style is only the beginning…these two can tear up a dance floor! In the evening, Loren changed into a gorgeous art deco dress to surprise guests with a salsa dance with Edgar! They completely rocked it, and it kicked off the dancing so perfectly! Amazing!! I loved being a part of their day so much, and I hope you enjoy this sneak peek into the festivities. It’s going to be hard to top 2017, what an incredible summer it’s been so far! Thanks to Kira Appel with The Bedford Columns for all your help, it was wonderful to work with you.
