It’s the weekend, and your love of two years takes you out for breakfast at the good old diner you both love. The weather is gorgeous! When you’re through eating, a drive seems like the perfect thing. Perhaps out to Pittsboro to a lovely place called Fearrington Village… A pond. A bench. You’re leaning against your sweetheart’s chest and taking in the view, when you notice something: his heart is pounding. You turn to look into his face, and there’s anticipation there. He sits up. Gaze steady and eyes bright, he tells you there’s something he’s been wanting to ask…
After the fervent ‘Yes!’ and the happy calls to parents and friends, there’s one more surprise in store, this time for the both of you: a beautiful rainbow lights up the sky!
Improbably perfect scenario? Well, this is really what happened when Jon proposed to Courtney! I was delighted to work with these two on a recent engagement session at the UNC Campus in Chapel Hill. The flowers were in brilliant bloom, so we made the most of them…strolling and sharing a good conversation. Jon and Courtney are truly genuine people, and I love that!
I also love the story of how Courtney’s orange tabby George warmed to Jon. Apparently, George is quite cuddly, curious and playful…just like his namesake Curious George! But it took him a while to get used to Jon! He says that for a while they “tolerated” one another, but now there’s real love there. This is very similar to what happened with my pup Ronon and my husband Michael! Courtney and Jon hope that when they’re married and a bit more settled they can welcome a dog into the family too. Someone new for curious George to be curious about! I’m looking forward to their big day in April! Below is a sneak peek of their engagement session.
